Louise Physiotherapist

Physiotherapy is used to treat and optimise the recovery of a wide range of conditions and injuries.  At the Physiotherapy and Acupuncture Clinic, Petersfield we see patients with neck, back (including sacroiliac joint), shoulder, elbow, hand, hip, knee and ankle conditions, as well as joint, muscle, ligament and tendon problems in any other part of the body.

These may be caused by various problems including poor posture, repetitive activities, arthritis, biomechanical disorders, and injuries including sporting, accidental or work-related. We also treat patients requiring rehabilitation following surgery or fractures / broken bones.

Patients will receive a comprehensive assessment of their condition and a treatment plan is then devised; aiming to resolve pain and inflammation, encourage tissue healing, restore normal range of motion, to enable a return to normal activities and reduce the risk of recurrence.

Treatments include

  • joint mobilisations
  • soft tissue therapy including trigger point release and myofascial release
  • ultrasound
  • acupuncture
  • exercise – including stretching, proprioceptive, strengthening and stability/core exercises
  • advice on a range of topics including ergonomics (working positions), ways to speed up recovery at home, posture, sleeping positions, prevention of recurrence and more.

The initial appointments are 45 – 60 minutes with most follow up sessions lasting 30 – 45 minutes.
